SMALL BITE: Named after a very famous restaurant in Mumbai, the Copper Chimney Indian Grill & Bar is located inside the Hotel LeSoleil in the Financial District of downtown Vancouver. Although it is accessible to passersby on the street, it’s easy to walk by without even knowing it is there. (However, the exquisite aroma of Indian spices will likely get you to turn right back around.) The open-style kitchen with its copper chimney and tandoori oven is often the focal point of the restaurant.
SIGNATURE DISHES: Copper Chimney is a delightful fusion of contemporary West Coast and Indian cuisine. Open for breakfast, Happy Hour and dinner, signature dishes include Eggs Benedict, Butter Chicken and Tandoori Salmon. For $15, diners can order a Tiffin lunch box featuring the Curry of the Day. And the most popular dessert are handmade Parisian macarons.
THE DISH FROM DINERS: “THE FOOD IS HEAVENLY.” Another said, “The best naan in Vancouver, bar none. Ask for the butter chicken sauce for dipping and have the seafood salad with a glass of their best Chardonnay (not the house) and you will thank me. It is a very tasty treat.”
FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Copper Chimney chefs cook many of their popular dishes — such as eggplant, prawns and salmon — in an authentic tandoori oven. The manager says the tandoori oven is the secret to their succulent salmon. In the center of the artistically appointed restaurant is an eye-catching chandelier that was imported from Venice, Italy.

Saturday and Sunday, 7:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.; and 5:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
