Howling good food at Lone Wolf (Jackson, California)

SMALL BITE: A few years ago, the Jackson Rancheria Casino Resort underwent an $80 million renovation, and one of the upgrades included the addition of the casual steakhouse called Lone Wolf Restaurant & Lounge. It’s a dining experience so exclusive and so different from other casino restaurants, that it has its own elevator. You can sit inside in a cozy booth or at a table, or opt to eat out on the veranda to watch a beautiful pink-hued sunset over the rolling green foothills of Amador County.

SIGNATURE DISH: The restaurant serves dinner, dessert, wine and cocktails. Start with the Spinach Bacon Salad or the raved-about Iron Skillet Mussels. Dinner selections run from elevated comfort food, like Lobster Macaroni & Cheese, Butternut Ravioli and Hearth Oven Pizza, to dinner specialties such as Pan-Seared Sea Scallops, House-Smoked Ribs and the most tender cut of Grilled Filet Mignon you will ever eat (pictured above).

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Wednesday and Thursday nights are “Locals Night.” If you live in the area, come on in and get 20% off your meal! Also, they offer a “Date Night” menu: For just $50, two people can share an appetizer and dessert, and they can each choose one of three entrees for a main course.

DISH FROM DINERS: “The service here is absolutely amazing, as well as the food! We’ve been to the casino a number of times, and usually eat before we come. We decided to try Lone Wolf because it was recommended by a friend, and it did NOT disappoint!”

HOURS:  Dinner only
Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday, 4:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.
Friday and Saturday, 4:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.
