Small bites, big view at The J. Parker (Chicago, Illinois)

5000

SMALL BITE: The J. Parker is a rooftop restaurant on the 13th floor of Hotel Lincoln, across the street from Chicago’s famed Lincoln Park, and is quickly becoming a neighborhood favorite, thanks to some of the best view views of the city, the park and Lake Michigan. As one waitress described the popular bar and eatery, “It’s a scenic bar with small, shared plates.”

SIGNATURE DISH: Depends on the season. Some of the most asked-for dishes created by award-winning chef Paul Virant include the J. Parker Mini Burger (shown above), Laughing Bird Shrimp Ceviche, Edelweiss Cheese Fritter with Cherry Bomb Aioli and Hand-Cut Fries with Malt Vinegar Aioli.

DISH FROM DINERS: “What an absolutely amazing experience. The view of the city is so lovely, the drinks are delicious and the staff was wonderful.”  And from another diner:  “Awesome continues to describe not only the views, but the food as well. The menu is limited, gourmet appetizers, but exceptional in taste and presentation.”

FOOD FOR THOUGHT: The J. Parker features a retractable glass rooftop that slides open during the warm spring and summer months, and can also fully shelter guests from the snow, rain and cold–without obstructing their amazing views of the city and lake.
